Chords, Guitar Tablature & Lyrics
____________________________________________________________________________________

I think that there are two electric guitars and one acoustic guitar in this one. I'm going to show you the chords and a tip or two - you can take it from there. Be sure to visit my tab page in order to understand how I write tablature on the web.

By the way, I interpreted these chords from listening to the recording - I did not use any other written music as an aid in writing the tab presented on this page. If you think that I have made a mistake, please let me know about it by dropping me a quick note.

Click here if you want only the lyrics.

THE CHORDS:

(intro notes)
D A G D
D A G D
(GUITAR & HARP INTRO)

    D
for days on days

     A
I've seen your game

       G D
and it takes away my joy

    D
the sea bird knows

          A
where the fair winds blow

    G D
his knowledge, he employs

  D Am7
I know that fast, the end shall come

    G E7
the writing's on the wall

    G
but better days are comin'

       D G D G
for us all

         D
brother, be your own

        A
for the faults we moan

      G D
still gather at our door

        D
and the journey we walk

    A
the talk we've talked

      G D
won't help us anymore

    D Am7
the sea bird's flown so far away

    G E7
you can't hear his voice's call

G D
better days are comin' for us all

    G D G
E G D D E G
D G D G
(GUITAR & HARP STUFF)

   D
do what you will

         Am7
when you climb that hill

     G E7
your rise shall be your fall

       G D G D G
'cause better days are comin' for us all

       G D G D G D G...
'cause better days are comin' for us all

TIPS

I had to tune my guitar up a little to play along with the recording - if you need to, tune the 4th string to the first chord of the song, then tune your guitar from there. The intro notes are (string/fret) 5/0, 5/2, 4/0 - hammer the first two notes, ie. pick the fifth string once and quickly play the 5/2 - and then quickly play the 4/0.
