Chords, Guitar Tablature & Lyrics
____________________________________________________________________________________

I think that there are 2 acoustic guitars in this one. I'm going to show you just the chords and a tip or two - you can take it from there. Be warned: you need to tune the low E string (6th string) down a half step to use my chord fingerings. I'm not even sure if the guitar parts were played in this tuning - there could be a different tuning involved (maybe a capo?). The chord names make look horrendous but give it a try... it's really a very easy song to play... once you get the chords down. Be sure to visit my tab page in order to understand how I write tablature on the web.

By the way, I interpreted these chords from listening to the LP - I did not use any other written music as an aid in writing the tab presented on this page. If you think that I have made a mistake, please let me know about it by dropping me a quick note.

THE TAB:

You must tune the low E string (6th string) down a half step to use these chord fingerings. Tune the string down so that it sounds like the note played on the 5th string at the 6th fret (the notes will be an octave apart).

Eb6

1 -|| ---------------------4---------8
2 -|| ---------------------3---------8
3 -|| ---------------------3---------8
4 -|| ---------------------3---------8
5 -|| --------------1----------------6
6 -|| -----0-------------------------0

Eb

1 -|| --------------1----------------6
2 -|| ---------------------3---------8
3 -|| ---------------------3---------8
4 -|| ---------------------3---------8
5 -|| --------------1----------------6
6 -|| -----0-------------------------0

Bbm9/Eb

1 -|| --------------4----------------8
2 -|| -----1-------------------------6
3 -|| -----1-------------------------6
4 -|| -----1-------------------------6
5 -|| --------------3----------------8
6 -|| -----0-------------------------0

Bbm7/Eb

1 -|| -----1-------------------------6
2 -|| -----1-------------------------6
3 -|| -----1-------------------------6
4 -|| -----1-------------------------6
5 -|| --------------3----------------8
6 -|| -----0-------------------------0

Fm7

1 -|| -----1-------------------------8
2 -|| ------------2------------------9
3 -|| -----1-------------------------8
4 -|| -----------------3-------------10
5 -|| -----1-------------------------8
6 -|| --------------------------------

Bbm7

1 -|| -----1-------------------------6
2 -|| -----1-------------------------6
3 -|| -----1-------------------------6
4 -|| -----1-------------------------6
5 -|| --------------3----------------8
6 -|| --------2----------------------7

F7/Eb

1 -|| -------------------------------
2 -|| -------1-----------------------6
3 -|| --------------4----------------8
4 -|| -----------2-------------------7
5 -|| --------------3----------------8
6 -|| --------------------------------0

(do NOT hit that open 1st string - the string on top)

Ab6/Eb

1 -|| ---1--------------------------4
2 -|| --(1)---------4---------------6
3 -|| ---------2--------------------5
4 -|| --------------3---------------4
5 -|| ------------------------------X
6 -|| -------------------------------0

(do NOT hit that open 5th string - the 2nd string the the bottom, unless you dampen the string with your 3rd finger!)

The (1) means you can use your first finger here - just like an F chord at the first fret.
(it's easier to remember this way, even though the note is not played because the pinkie
is on same string playing at a higher fret)

ALTERNATE CHORDS:

Eb6

1 -|| ---------------------3---------8
2 -|| ---------------------3---------8
3 -|| ---------------------3---------8
4 -|| ---------------------3---------8
5 -|| --------------1----------------6
6 -|| -----0-------------------------0

TIPS:

Intro:

The chords change from 'Eb6 to Eb and from Bbm9/Eb to Bbm7/Eb'. Let the pinkie do all the work. Let that bottom 6th string ring out when playing all of these chords. You can continue these chord changes whenever you see the Eb6 and Bbm7/Eb pattern throughout the song (but don't over do it).

If you find the 'Eb6 to Eb and from Bbm9/Eb to Bbm7/Eb' a little tricky, then play just the Eb6 and the Bbm7/Eb chords- still sounds great! :)

Rest of Song:

WATCH OUT when playing the F7/Eb and Ab6/Eb chords - each chord has a string that should not be played. At this part of the song, I pick the low note with my thumb and the upper strings with the fingers - I don't use a pick in the entire song... strum with your thumb or the fingernail of your index finger .
